How do hail-protection covers work?

EUROMET hail-protection covers consist of a galvanised-steel load-bearing structure and a high-density polyethylene (PE) net cover. The net absorbs the impact energy of hailstones, protecting the vehicles below. Every structure is engineered to measure and sized according to the snow and wind loads of the installation area.

Which materials do you use?

The load-bearing structure is in Sendzimir Z275 galvanised steel. The cover net is in high-density polyethylene (PE-HD). Both materials comply with current European standards.

Do hail-protection structures require building permits?

Accepted Answer

Hail-protection structures are generally considered removable and in many cases do not require a building permit. However, regulations vary from municipality to municipality: some require a prior notification. We always recommend checking with the local municipality or a qualified technician before installation. EUROMET provides all the technical documentation needed to support the bureaucratic process.

How long does a hail-protection net last?

A polyethylene hail-protection net has an indicative service life of 8–10 years under normal conditions. Over the years the material tends to stiffen, progressively reducing impact absorption. We recommend an annual inspection to check the net and the integrity of the structure, especially after intense weather events. The inspection service is available on request and chargeable. Replacing the net alone, when required, is a quick operation that does not require dismantling the load-bearing structure.

Yes. We use CE-certified materials and build structures designed to current regulations. Our manufacturing process is also ISO 9001 certified, guaranteeing quality at every stage of the work.

What is the difference between a shading and a solar canopy?

A shading canopy uses a net or technical fabric cover that reduces solar radiation. A solar canopy integrates photovoltaic panels in the roof, producing electricity in addition to protecting vehicles. Both solutions are in galvanised steel and engineered to measure.

Our process includes: free technical site survey, bespoke design, in-house manufacturing at our Dalmine (BG) facility, transport and installation by our team, final testing. From order confirmation to delivery, lead times are generally 15 to 40 business days.

For B2B projects the free technical site survey is part of our process: it allows us to take exact measurements and provide a precise quote. For a preliminary estimate you can provide us with site plans, photos and measurements.

Do you offer a maintenance service?

Yes. On request and chargeable, we carry out periodic inspections of installed structures: checking anchors, the condition of the nets and the overall integrity. We recommend an annual inspection, especially after seasons with intense weather events.

What happens if a net gets damaged after installation?

Accepted Answer

Contact our technical team for an assessment. Depending on the extent of damage, we can replace only the net while keeping the load-bearing structure, or carry out a more extensive intervention. Our after-sales service is available to all our clients.
